Alcohol, like swine/pork is specifically mentioned and referred to in the Koran.  However, narcotics are not.  Also, cigarettes would fall into this category also but alas it is also not specifically mentioned or referred to in the Koran and thus we see Muslims consuming cigarettes and narcotics but are vehemently against the consumption of swine and alcohol.
