The  Guyana elections comission has just announced the result of the elections. the PPP and  the PNC are tied with 45%  ,  The AFC ,  7% and the other parties with  3%of the electorate.
All day  Mr  Ramotour and Mr Granger were in negotiations to avert a constitiutional impasse and they have now reached a compromise. Mr Granger will assume the presidency  for the first three years and then it will revert back to Mr Ramotour in the final three years 
The parties has pledged to cooperate in parliment    for the progress of guyana and to help bridge the racial divide that exists in the country.
Mr Ramjattan , within the past few minutes has issued a statement stating his willingness to work with the new govt
