Guyana is no longer subject to external influence over its economy by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and is one of the fastest growing economies in CARICOM and South America despite turmoil in the global economy.
“Our sustained investment in education and health over the years is improving the quality of our people’s lives – and our support for the vulnerable is proving that there is no incompatibility between economic prosperity and compassion for those who need help. More people own their own homes than ever, our diaspora are starting to return home, our private sector is expanding like never before, and the physical infrastructure of the country has been transformed,†President Jagdeo said.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Investigations are being conducted into the fatal shooting of a man of mixed race which occurred yesterday at Maripa Dukwari Landing, Cuyuni River.
Police in a press release stated that initial information obtained from two police ranks at the scene was that they were on duty escorting two ballot boxes to Maripa Dukwari and Kurutuku.
While at the Maripa Dukwari Landing, the ranks were attacked by three men who were armed and who attempted to take away their firearms.
During the confrontation one of the men was fatally shot. The other two men fled the scene.
Police said that the dead man was armed with two handguns along with a quantity of ammunition which have been recovered by the police.
According to the police all the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting are not yet very clear, but the initial report suggests that the dead man is wanted for a series of armed robberies in the interior and may have been about to commit another robbery at the Landing when he confronted the police.
Police from Eteringbang Police Station and 70kms Buckhall have left to visit the scene.
The ballot boxes and ballot materials are all intact.... Like somebody tried something, and something fried them. This time na lang time!

This will be a very interesting evening to say the least. Guyana's deomcracy will be highlighted, and the winners and losers will have to pick up their post election chants and wait another 4 years.

The people have learned an invaluable lesson from the past, and it is upon them to make the decision for their collective future. The leaders, come tomorrow will find that the expectations are much higher than any other time in Guyanese history, for Guyana's progress and well being.
This time na lang time!
