it is very simple! wat are the people of Titty so fractious about dat it requires a state of emergency to control them?
the people put Kamla in office as PM! the people own the nation, have soverignty. the Politicians are reps of the people...not their overlords.
watever ails the people the pols are there to address it. dat is wat deh promised to do... one party better than the others...dat is why deh were chosen..
as it appears now Kamla and her party 'lied' better than their opposition.
Titty, ever since I was a lil bwoy, growing up there, suffered from chronic unemployment and lack of oportunity for ordinary people..Indians as well as Afros.
most Titty Indians were as poor as Afros and I believe that is more or less still the case.
there are only up to a million and a half Titties in total. Titty makes dat much money every wat..minute of the day?
(and deh wud make a lot more if their petro products were priced properly. but deh give it away to the american corporations at old peppercorn prices!)
how in the hell can be it be, that after so many years of excess national earnings, there is not enuff money to take proper care of one and a half million people?
there are all kinds of problems that demand to be addressed by the condtions of the modern world...food security is one. what is Tittys food security like: wat is Kamlas governments' position on that question?
I state the question as problem for it is indeed a major problem, and because the other side of problem is opportunity....opportunity on a scale that means jobs, chances for people to improve themselves... and in the process end national squabbling dat warrants a state of emergency.
but only if addressing the problem of food security by producing locally, and working in tandem with the region to secure food for the whole potential westindian nation...by fostering an agricultural development that can meet such food security requirements
such a project and its multiplier effects would really hit a six for westindian development, especially if Guyana is tied in ...all financed by Trinidads billions.
I was of the opinion dat something like that was in the wind when Kamla met Bharrat jagdoe when she was elected... as the first forrin leader she met as PM.
since them the impression is that Kamlas government is not forcused on such possibilities at all
but in 10+ years since the price of oil became win'fall again and revenues flowed into Titty, the administrations regardless who led them have done nothing to address the problems of ordinary Titties.
Titty has wasted money on grandiose projects...huge white elephants that profited the forriner not locals.
Titty brought in white men from canada etc., to run the government, control the money, organise such massive, pointless projects.
the money flows out of Titty, and not into nationalist social development, in which the building, the construction, would play a complementary part....as such construction wud be a counterpart, and supportive of the nationalist social development...building what is needed for the development of the people..the nation...not white elehants
its the same scandals whether it is Panday,Manning or Kamla as PM...all where the money is concerned..contracting and construction...this that or the other...while the ordinary folk are locked out.
dat is why there is high crime...and now in addition labour strife that Kamla believes warrants a state of emergency.
there is enuff resources to address the needs of the people of Titty..all of them. but the elites of Titty and the westindies follow neo liberal lines and do nothing for the people.
that is the problem! Kamla must address the real needs of the people of Titty. if she does not she will unite Afro and Indian ordinary folk against her and her party.
dat state of emergency has the potential to explode in Kamlas' face. try imagine wat it is like to live under curfew for 3 months, in a place as hot as Titty..no jobs, no money, struggling.
there are limits! look out!
