Oh okay. Well the GG is a public servant and a special one at that. Like all public servants though the GG's expenses, whilst in office, must be reasonable and related to the execution of his/her duties. My problem is not with the GG but with the Senate. Senators do fcuk all and collect a fat gov't salary for life plus a huge pension and benefits all paid for by tax payers. ::

As I stated before the GG is a public servant and like all public servants they have a right to expend reasonable expenses in the exercise of the their duties. I don't think there should be a law that excludes the GG in particular. I haven't seen any case of absurd abuse of tax dollars by any of our GGs so far. The Senate however is rife with such examples.

The duties ofa governor general is to represent the ruling British Monarch in Canada. Thegovernor general carries out administrative duties and also celebratory orfestive activities. If we now look at the three femalegovernor generals of Canada, two of which were from Montreal. Among them Adrienne Clarkson took her role seriously asgovernor general of Canada, though some would argue that her spending was outof control. She hosted many events and traveled extensively. During her time atRideau Hall, the expenses of this office went up by 200%. To be fair, some ofthe expenditures were a result of different ministries unloading certainexpenses they once carried, over to the Governor General's office.

Good thing the bitch in Egnland rejected the proposal to be replaced with a president, imagine this, say she had replaced the GG with a president, then the Rideau hALL would cost them 3 times more...then they would have to pull the money out of our ass...
